Are you the kind of person who likes to go to the local greasy spoon every now and then for the kind of cooking mom used to make?
I bet you've never been to one that has such the lovely views of the water.
Capt'n Cons is on the northern tip of Pine Island in Bokeelia and if you sit near the window, you can see for miles and miles beyond the pier out to Charlotte Harbor. You can even see the islands of Cayo Costa and Boca Grande ........ and from the pier, sometimes even dolphins!
This Old Florida seafood house has an old fashioned feeling and decor in it's dining rooms and cozy alcoves.
We like to go out to Capt'n Cons for chowder and pie. I can never make up my mind which I like better, their clam or seafood chowder. Sometimes I get both!
They also have Fishermans Specials, fish and seafood combo plates, or meatloaf and country steak served for a great price from 11AM-6PM.
The best part is you can get the specials served with mashed potatoes and gravy ........... choose white or brown gravy .......... mmmmmm, I love mashed potatoes and gravy!
You can only get sandwiches, salads, baskets, country-fried steak, seafood dinners, roast beef, and burgers. I can't resist their Coconut Shrimp.
After dinner, I hope you saved room, because then you have to decide on which pie you want, another difficult decision.
The blueberry, coconut, apple, and chocolate pies are all delicious! Slices are huge and topped with lots of whipped cream.
Make sure you go when you can see the sunset, either before or after dinner, it's definitely worth the ride up.
They now also have a new bar area in one of their dining rooms.
You'll definitely want to consider driving over to Bokeelia to Captain Cons when looking for restaurants in Cape Coral to go to.
During season, they are open 7 days a week from 7AM-9PM for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For the summer, they are open for lunch and dinner, Thursday - Saturday from 11Am-9PM, and Sunday - Wednesday 11AM-5PM. Call ahead to check times.
