Jensens on the Gulf
Jensens on the Gulf is the most intimate of the Captiva beach resorts, where you'll find rest, relaxation, and romance!
What I love about his small resort is that it is directly on the beach and the Gulf of Mexico!
The
views of the beach and water are spectacular and pull any stress and
anxiety away from you immediately ......... there's something about
being able to listen to the waves breaking that is so soothing.
You have a choice of 2 beach homes, 3 garden-view cottages suites, or 5 suites in their gulf-view beach house. Accommodations go from 1-bedroom up to 3-bedrooms for 2-6 guests. We stayed in the South Beach Suite in the gulf-view beach house and absolutely loved it!
You can enjoy the view from the spacious lanai, and while you're sitting or cooking in the open living/dining/kitchen.
The 2 bedrooms are to the back, my room had a queen bed and Nicole slept in the room with 2 twins. A large bathroom is in between.
I do like the Cape Cod feel of the rooms because I used to go there for vacation every year when I lived in Connecticut.
Beds were very comfy, everything was very clean, and we had the most pleasant stay. I can't wait to go back to this terrific Captiva resort!
Next to our suite on the second floor is the North Beach Suite, which features the same accommodations we had for up to 4 guests.
Also in the beach house and on the third floor is the Penthouse with king-sized bed in 1-bedroom, bathroom, and open living/dining/kitchen, and the Honeymoon Suite with a queen bed, bathroom, plus mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker ........ both for 2 guests each.
On the first floor is On the Beach, which features a queen bed, bathroom, plus mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.
Beach equipment is available along with grills, tiki huts and picnic tables in the back yard.
Next door to our building and also on the beach are the 2 beach
homes. The Beach House is first with 2 bedrooms, a king and 2 twins,
plus 2 bathrooms, and open living/dining/kitchen for 4 guests.
Just beyond it is the 3-bedroom Jensen House for 6 guests with king/king/2 twins, 1 1/2 baths and open living/dining/kitchen.
A bit further back from the beach is the Beach Nest, located above Jensen's office. It has 2 bedrooms for 4 guests with king beds, 2 bathrooms, and open living/dining/kitchen.
For garden views, stay in Captiva's old post office in either of the 2 suites, the P.O. Box with king bed and mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The P.O. Sweet has a bedroom with queen, bathroom, and open living/dining/kitchen.
Contact Jensens on the Gulf about one more accommodation, the Beach Retreat. Designed and decorated by an artist, this beach house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great room, living room, kitchen and fabulous porch ......... all tucked away in a private spot on the beach!
All suites and cottages have screened-in lanais and TV/DVD players, and access to the most glorious beach!
Make sure you get to also enjoy the most captivating sunsets!
I went down one morning to the beach and was fascinated as I watched the pelicans and some other kind of small bird diving for their breakfast all along and up and down the beach.
I also like watching the sandpipers ......... with their little legs going a mile-a-minute!
Don't forget to dip your toes in the tubs provided before you head back to your room!
Jensens on the Gulf is on the outskirts of the village, but you may still enjoy the walk to shops and restaurants on Andy Rosse Lane.
And, you're not that far from the Chapel by the Sea with it's graveyard in the sand, the Community Center, and Library.
No smoking and no pets allowed on the premises. As with Jensen's other resort, Jensens Marina and Twin Palm Cottages, they do not replace towels and linens everyday. Laundry facilities are available and Jensen House, Beach Nest, and Beach Retreat all have their own washers and dryers.
Check-in is after 4PM until 6PM over at Jensens Marina. If you can't make it by then, call by 5PM to arrange a late check-in.
