Fords Garage is one of the newest Cape Coral restaurants on the scene, serving up the best burgers along with a fun atmosphere!
If you've been to the River District of downtown Ft Myers, you may have seen or even been to the Fords there, where gourmet burgers and craft beers are the stars of the menu.
Our Cape Coral location has the same, and also shares the theme of old Ford cars and Prohibition-style bar and restaurant in a 1920's garage.
It's located on Cape Coral Pkwy, just off the Cape Coral Bridge, in the spot where Leapin Lizards used to be.
There's plenty of parking, and it's a good thing because when we went on a Sunday night, it was packed!
As for dining, you can sit outside or inside one of 2 bar/dining rooms. No matter where you sit, old Fords are placed at center stage. Don't be surprised if you hear an "oogah oogah" every now and then! TV's are placed around both rooms so you can enjoy the game.
Well, it was a no-brainer, I had to get a burger and decided on the Ford's Signature with Black Angus beef, Vermont cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, and bourbon barbecue sauce on a sesame bun .......... mmmmmmmm, absolutely delicious. Yeah, I can't believe it, but I ate the whole thing!
Served with our burgers are soft and limp French fries, not my most favorite kind, but we got some onion rings too, and they were thick, crispy, and scrumptious .......... served with chipotle ketchup and smokey ranch dressing for dipping.
You can either choose one of Fords Garage specialty burgers like I did, or build your burger just the way you like it.
Not in the mood for a burger? No problem, you can choose from their Mac 'n' Cheese Bar, salads, and several seafood, steak, or chicken dishes.
We were too stuffed for dessert, but I thought the apple pie or their Mom's Rum Cake looked yummy.
The beer menu is HUGE! If you're having a hard time choosing, you can order a paddle with 4 different 5oz selections to try. You can also get wine, cocktails, sodas, ice teas, and milk shakes in various flavors.
Look for daily food and drink specials. Fords Garage is open Mon-Wed from 11AM - 12AM, Thurs 11AM - 1AM, Fri-Sat 11AM - 2AM, and Sun 11AM - 10PM. A few menu selections are served as Lunch Box Specials from 11AM - 4PM.
Did you know that Henry Ford got his idea for building cars on an assembly line after seeing a moving conveyor system with fixed work stations on a visit to the Swift slaughterhouse in Chicago? Sounds like burgers and Fords go together!
