Harbourside Bar and Grill
Harbourside Bar and Grill serves up fine dining for guests of Captiva's South Seas Island Resort.
UPDATE: Harbourside is temporarily closed due to damage from Hurricane Ian and is expected to reopen in the Summer of 2024
They serve a breakfast buffet and dinner to resort guests daily, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the picturesque Yacht Harbour Marina.
Since vacationing families are the main patrons of the restaurant, the atmosphere is casual ...... yet with a hint of elegance.
On a beautiful day, you'll want to sit outside on the front terrace to delight in the view, soak up a little sun, and enjoy some fresh air.
Or, sit at the bar, order one of their signature cocktails, and watch the game on their TV's before or after dinner.
Beautiful glass vases decorate the entrance and welcome you to the bar area and dining rooms.
Indoor dining room seating includes tables and chairs, or banquettes with lots of windows so you can see the harbor from anywhere that you sit ........... and there's plenty of room for large parties.
We enjoyed a lovely Continental-style breakfast with fruit, cereals, pastries, muffins, bagels, biscuits, French Toast, omelets, waffles, bacon, sausages, and more.
The buffet is set up in the back room, just load up your plate and dig in!
Dinner was just as good ......... seafood is king on the menu and very fresh because it is caught locally in the waters that surround Captiva Island. Chicken, steaks, pasta, and more are round out the selections served.
I had the Blackened Red Snapper with Melon Slaw and Avocado Salsa ..... it was amazing! The slaw and salsa had watermelon, canteloupe, pineapple, onions and jicama ........... a fresh and tasty combination.
For dessert, I had a delightful carrot cake, which was dense, moist, very flavorful, and full of nuts!
While the adults sit over coffee and dessert, kids can play in a little alcove reserved just for them. Toys, books, and puzzles will keep them happy so you can linger over your dinner for a bit longer!
Breakfast is served from 8-11AM, and dinner from 5-10PM. The bar is open from 5PM until closing.
Even though there are so many terrific restaurants on Captiva, you'll
be missing out if don't dine at Harbourside Bar and Grill ... the food, the view, and the ambience will make your meal one to remember.
